| 自己紹介 | 24年間地域研究の専門機関であるアジア経済研究所に勤めていましたが、2005年10月から本学に移ってきました。研究所で活字ばかりを相手にしているのと違って、学生と一緒に考えていくのは、また別の意味で刺激になります。活字を通じて知識や情報を伝えていくことも大事ですが、対面的な出会いのなかで、どうやったら人々にわかりやすく物事が伝えられるか、が今の課題。★特に私の専門は現代中東政治なので、「戦争」や「テロ」、「非民主的」といった表面的なイメージがつきまといます。その「世間の思い込み」の強さといったら!その「思い込み」を越えて、どう中東地域の動態を「同じ世界の共存相手」として、視聴者／読者に発信していくか。偏見や中途半端な知識や決め付けに惑わされずに、自由な発想で今世界で起こっていることを見てもらえるように、授業ができればと思います。★これまでは中東、特にイラクに焦点を当てて研究を進めてきましたが、湾岸戦争やイラク戦争といった世界規模の紛争が常について回るので、これからはもう少し一般的な議論として、紛争の防止、解決につながる研究をしていきたいですね。特に語学に力を入れている本学ですから、理解したい相手の人たちが何を語ろうとしているのか、訴えようとしているのか、その声を聞き届けることの重要性を、改めて強調したい。言葉が回避できる紛争というのは、あるのです。★自分自身、在学中に、たくさんの知識を得るほど勉強しませんでした。でも、いくつか「目からウロコ」的な発想の転換を示唆してくれた授業があります。そんな授業ができるようになると、いいなあ。 | |
