March Monthly Report
This month was the last month of my stay at the SOAS. At the beginning of this month, I was able to complete some interviews of key figures, and then was able to present my paper "Nepal Armed Conflict and Peace Process in the Human Rights Perspective" at Human Rights in the Aftermath, the 1st Annual Human Rights Initiative Graduate Student Symposium in the University Of California in Davis, USA. I was able to convey my perspective with international scholars as well as with college students. The professors and scholars appreciated the paper's approach and asked many questions.
During this month, I was able to discuss my research questions and Nepal's recent political development with Nepal's ambassador to the UK, his Excellency, Dr. Suresh C. Chalise and to receive his views. Aside from this, he gave one article called "Building a Bridge" which provided insights of the Nepalese geopolitical and economic outlook, and the recent paradigm of Nepal policy towards international politics in the practice of identity politics. This will be useful to understand the Nepali polity and current discourse of Nepal.
Through the month, my schedule was hectic so that I could complete the research tasks of collecting the material and reviewing the bibliography. During this month, I was able to visit the British library and collect the Nepali affairs books and historical documents. I was also able to read recent publications and literature related to my field of research.
As per my regular visit, I met with my mentor professor, Dr. Lawrence, and reported my research progress and submitted a revised draft and received his comments. Moreover, we discussed the research approach and received his suggestion for synthesizing the paper and pervious work to give completion to this work.
Furthermore, this month was special for me. My professor was here .I was able to present my progress and outcome to my advisor then received his comments and suggestions. It was great moment during my stay here in UK.
Finally end of the month; I was busy with warp of my visit. I meet my mentor here and received his comments and discuss the future research activities and he wish to success of my research. Overall this month was so much hectic and fruitful of my research and able to research was done.
