Regarding overseas travel and entering from overseas

Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare announced the partial changes to its border control measures for COVID-19 on September 27, 2021. In response to this, TUFS will take the following measures of overseas travel and entering from overseas for faculty members.

Overseas travel will continue to be handled in accordance with the existing “Overseas Travel Guidelines for Faculty and Researchers”. Referring the “Infectious Disease Risk Information” issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, please take all possible measures to ensure your safety, such as checking the pandemic situation of the destination, preventive measures, medical systems in case you are infected, grasping the quarantine measures upon returning to Japan, securing the routes of return to Japan, and enrolling to insurance. Please refrain from traveling to countries/regions where you cannot secure a return route or where re-entry into Japan is not permitted.

When returning or entering to Japan, TUFS will continue to require you to stay at home for two weeks in accordance with Japanese Government policy. However, the quarantine period can be shortened to 10 days if a "copy" of the vaccination certificate valid for quarantine at the time of entry/return is submitted and the conditions specified by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare are met. Please note that if you are in charge of in-person classes during the quarantine period after return, you will not be allowed to travel abroad.
When you take a leave for an emergency travel due to family misfortunes, etc., be sure to inform the Dean of your department of "Destination country, City, Period, etc." well in advance.
Those who living in the University arranged residence required to follow each of the guidelines when you re-entry/return from the overseas.

Due to the spread of new coronavirus variant, the immigration restrictions and restriction measures after entry imposed by each country are changing every minute. Please try to get the latest information along with the border measures at the time of departure and re-entry.
