International Cooperation Studies

This major course aims to develop high-level professionals who will be engaged in creative activities in various sectors of society based on the theoretical and systematic knowledge they acquire. They will play active roles in public agencies, international organizations, and private enterprises. The objective is to have the students cultivate insights and develop the ability to act forcefully in discovering fundamental solutions to problems that arise in the international community by scientifically examining their desire to contribute to problem-solving. This course helps students to gain practical experience outside the classroom.

International Cooperation

The objective of this course of study is to develop human resources with expertise in world politics, economics, society, and culture, as well as the ability to use foreign languages, who play an active role in public agencies, international organizations, and private enterprises. The course offers curriculums based on international cooperation studies and related theories in the social sciences, as well as on TUFS's area and language studies. Along with TUFS's dedicated teachers, visiting and associate professors with rich experience and who work energetically at the frontline of international cooperation and development aid (Japan International Cooperation Agency, the Japan External Trade Organization's Institute of Developing Economies, and the Bank of Japan's Institute for Monetary and Economic Studies) provide education and guidance.

Peace and Conflict Studies

The objective of this course of study, Japan's first research and educational organization in this field, is to specialize in studies of conflicts in various regions of the world using multifaceted viewpoints and methods and to search for conditions and ways for conflict solution and prevention and peace building. The course aims to develop experts with an international perspective who contribute to peace building and conflict prevention in the international community. All classes are held in English.
