Ceremony Held to Commemorate the 50th Anniversary of TUFS’ Japanese Language Center (JLC) for International Students

An online ceremony to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Japanese Language Center for International Students was held on November 21, 2021. The ceremony was originally scheduled for 2020, but was delayed for a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The first part of the ceremony mainly marked the 50th anniversary. The director of the Student Support and Exchange Division of MEXT’s Higher Education Bureau, Mr. TAKAHASHI Ichiro, delivered a message, and a JLC alumnus from the class of 1978 gave a special lecture.

The second part was a worldwide hangout session, where participants had the opportunity to reunite with old friends and teachers.

Over 150 teachers and students who graduated between 1970 and 2020 participated in this memorable ceremony.
