Arabic Calligraphy Presented to TUFS

Prominent Arabic calligrapher and class of 1969 TUFS alumni Mr. HONDA Koichi gifted TUFS with one of his works on June, 2, 2021.

The work features verse 115 from the Quran’s second chapter written in Tthuluth script.

The ceremony to present the gift was attended by Mr. HONDA Koichi, university president HAYASHI Kayoko, and celebrity Ms. FUJIWARA Shiori who was there to report on Arabic calligraphy for a column in the magazine Fujin Koron.*

Mr. HONDA’s work will be displayed at the TUFS’ Fuchu campus (exact location is still pending).
