18 Students Participate in UN Training Program

April 13, 2021

The “UN Training Program” (directed by Takase Chikako and Kashiwazaki Masanori) took place between January 26 and 28 of this year as part of the global liberal arts program. 18 students from the three departments at TUFS participated.

This was the fourth time we conducted the program, however, we were not able to carry it out in New York as previous years due to the expansion of the covid-19 pandemic. However, we conducted 14 briefings (overview, including a virtual tours of the headquarter’s facilities) and a panel discussion on career advice by international civil workers.
Although we are sad for not being able to conduct the program in its study tour form, we were able to make the most of the online tools and gather information from place that do not have New York offices. Such include the WHO, IOM, Asian branch offices, Indonesia’s United Nations Population Fund office and Vietnam’s United Nations Resident Coordinator office.

TUFS’s UN training program is standing strong against the covid-19 pandemic, providing further learning opportunities. We will keep up with our work so stay tuned.
