Ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Tokyo Visits TUFS

On Wednesday the 19th of December, the ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Tokyo, H.E. Mr. Jacek IZYDORCZYK Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland, visited TUFS and met with President Hirotaka Tateishi. This meeting was also attended by Vice President (for general and educational affairs) Kayoko Hayashi and Associate Professor Koji Morita (Institute for Global Studies).

Ambassador Izydorczyk became ambassador a year and a half ago and, as a person who has experienced going on exchange to Japan, mentioned at the meeting that Japan “feels like home”. The Ambassador also discussed how TUFS is a special university, as it is the only university in Japan that offers Polish language as a major course of study. President Tateishi explained the new “School of Japan Studies” that will open in April 2019, and discussed the possibilities of exchange opportunities between TUFS and Poland.
After this meeting, Ambassador Izydorczyk attended a social with students and faculty from the Polish language major.
