Gaigosai Wins Extra MVP Prize at Gakuensai Grand Prix

January 29, 2018

In November 2017, TUFS held the 95th Gaigosai, which went on to win the Grand Prix (MVP) award at the 9th Gakuensai Grand Prix (held by Let’s Enjoy Tokyo). Following this, on Thursday the 25th of January 2018, Gaigosai was awarded an extra award in the TUFS President’s Office.
Gaigosai was also awarded an extra prize, the Katsuhiko Hibino Design Trophy (named after the contemporary artist), for designing flower arrangements and other decorations to fit the ‘TUFS image’. This award was received by Hirona Sonobe of the Gaigosai Executive Committee (School of International and Area Studies, Oceania Area Studies, second year), TUFS President Hirotaka Tateishi and Vice President Kayoko Hayashi, who were very happy with this achievement.
Gaigosai is known for showcasing the languages of TUFS through its multilingual plays and ethnic food stalls. This year, the various efforts and projects of Gaigosai were taken into consideration and, as a result, Gaigosai received its third prize in the ‘Gakuensai Grand Prix’. Through efficient use of Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and other social media platforms, and the multilingualization of its campus tours, Gaigosai has proven that it is evolving each year. TUFS intends to work hard to meet expectations for the next Gaigosai.
