TUFS student won 1st place at "International Speech Competition in Malay"

Malay language major Hatsune Yanai (senior, School of Language and Culture Studies) won first prize in the International Category in the International Speech Competition in Malay, Prime Minister's Cup 2016 held in Putrajaya International Convention Centre in Malaysia, 21-25 March 2016, sponsored by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education.

Being chosen from the 20 candidates representing different countries in the world, Ms. Yanai advanced to the finals and won first place among the three finalists. The finals were broadcast live in the whole Malaysia. Ms. Yanai made a speech on behalf of the finalists at the beginning of the finals in front of Prime Minister Najib Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor.
Ms. Yanai’s victory was reported by a number of local media such as TV1 and Utusan Malaysia.
