Report on Relay Lectures from the Ambassadors for the South African Development Community held October-November

These lectures were held on the generosity of the ambassadors for the South African Development Community (SADC) as a required module for first year students of African area studies at TUFS during second period on Wednesdays during the autumn term. Below are details on the four lectures held in between Wednesday 26th October and Wednesday 16th November.

Lecture 3- 26 th October (Wed) The United Republic of Tanzania- His Excellency Mr. Mathias Chikawe
Lecture 4- 2 nd November (Wed) The Republic of South Africa- Her Excellency Ms. Beryl Rose
Lecture 5- 9 th November (Wed) The Republic of Namibia- Her Excellency Ms. Sophia Nangombe
Lecture 6- 16 th November (Wed) The Republic of Mozambique- His Excellency Mr. José Maria Morais

The lecturers each gave an ingeniously constructed lecture introducing the industry and tourism in their countries in easy-to-understand English. The first year students, while nervous at first, were able to actively ask questions in a calm environment and have consistently lively exchanges with the ambassadors. These relay lectures are open to the public in order to promote exchange between Japan and the countries of Southern Africa. (Wednesday 2 nd period, room 207)
