Participating in the Silk-road Universities Network (SUN)

March 8, 2017

On Tuesday 9 th August, President Tateishi attended the second general meeting of the Silk-road Universities Network (SUN) held at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and joined the network. After the signing, President Tateishi gave a speech. SUN is focused around the countries situated on the silk road (on both land and sea), based on the spirit of the ancient silk road (Silkrodia: the spirit of respecting other cultures and promoting fair trade), and is currently composed of the network formed in 2015 between 58 universities in 45 cities in 24 countries.

TUFS carries out education in the 22 languages spoken in the member countries of SUN. Among the 16 member institutions, beginning with the executive office and host institution of the general meeting, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, there are 16 partner institutions, and it is hoped that based on the spirit of Silkroadia, the exchange between students and researchers, as well the network, will expand on a large geographic and historical scale.

Presidents from 34 universities in 18 countries attend the second general meeting in their country's formal dress.
