On the 26th of February 2016 (Fri), a university orientation was conducted aimed at the new Global Japan Office (GJO) coordinators which were hired this year. There were a total of 4 coordinators that participated, 1 from each of the following universities; University of London SOAS, Tamkang University, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and University of Guanajuato. Here at TUFS, according to the TUFS Super Global university initiative “From Japan to the World, strengthening the power of transmission” “Supporting the Globalization of the University”, in order to carry out these initiatives, we are establishing “Global Japan Office” as a base for “Japan research and Japanese education” in major overseas partner universities.

At the orientation, in order to deepen their understanding of TUFS, Vice-President Hayashi gave a presentation regarding the education research and the SGU initiative, then a tour of every department and facility within the campus. Following this, Vice-President Miyazaki gave a presentation regarding international strategy. Due to participation in the orientation, networking between branches of GJO was also established which we are expecting will lead to further enhancement of activity within the Global Japan Office.
