[Application deadline: 29/2]Summer Intensive Study Tour; Recruiting Volunteer Interpreters for Rio Olympics and Paralympic Games

We are urgently looking to recruit volunteer interpreters for the Rio Olympics and Paralympic Games between the following languages; Japanese-English, Korean-English and Japanese-Portuguese.

Due to the previous recruitment phase which was held by the Olympic committee already coming to an end and still lacking interpreters in the above areas, we are urgently calling for volunteer interpreters who meet the below criteria.

This will count for 2 credits as a summer intensive study tour.

We already have an agreement between the Olympic organizing committee that accommodation and food expenses will be provided for the duration of your stay. However, travel expenses and other personal expenses must be paid by yourself. We will negotiate with airline companies to receive a group discount. Although TUFS will take all possible measures to ensure safety, you are responsible for looking after yourself during the trip. Training will be conducted prior to departure.

The following language combinations; Japanese-English and Korean-English require a minimum TOEIC score of 800 as an application requirement.
30 Japanese-English interpreters and only a few Korean-English interpreters are required.
As for the Japanese-Portuguese combination, applicants must have experience of studying abroad for a long period in a Portuguese speaking country.

The minimum working period is 2 weeks. The duration of the Olympics runs from the 5th of August until 21st, however including the duration of the Paralympic Games, we are looking to appoint successful applicants for allocations of 2 weeks from the end of July until mid-September.

Once your application has been accepted, you will have an interview with the Rio Olympic organizing committee via Skype.
After the application deadline, before the beginning of course registration in April, we are planning to hold an information session during March.
