TUFS Global Japan Office Established at University of Guanajuato on February 10th

On the 10th of February 2016 (Wed), the eighth Global Japan Office(※) was established in the Social Sciences and Humanities Faculty at the University of Guanajuato in Mexico and an opening ceremony was held.
At the ceremony, Dean of Social Sciences and Humanities Faculty at the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Aureliano Ortega Esquivel, the Vice-Dean, Dr. Carlos Armando Preciado de Alba, Executive Director and Vice-President of TUFS, Iwasaki, members involved with both universities, previous foreign students that were accepted as part of the Re-Inventing Japan Project as well as exchange students from TUFS participated.

At the opening ceremony, Dean of Social Sciences and Humanities Faculty, Ortega Esquivel and Executive Director and Vice-President Iwasaki both gave ceremonial addresses, the ribbon was cut at the new Global Japan Office and also a sign was installed.
The GJO office was established in the building for the Japanese Language Course which is part of the Foreign Language Department within the Social Sciences and Humanities Faculty. As well as providing support for exchange students from TUFS and providing information regarding studying abroad in Japan, we are also planning to provide various study abroad support as a base for cooperation between the Re-Inventing Japan Project.

(※)Here at TUFS, according to the TUFS Super Global university initiative “From Japan to the World, strengthening the power of transmission” “Supporting the Globalization of the University”, in order to carry out these initiatives, we are establishing “Global Japan Office” as a base for “Japan research and Japanese education” in major overseas partner universities.
