Application for JMOOC course "New Theory of Economic Development in Thailand" Started

Our university has joined the JMOOC (Japan Massive Open Online Courses), free and publicly accessible online courses offered by various universities. We proudly announce that our first JMOOC course, “New Theory of Economic Development in Thailand” conducted by Professor Toshiyuki Miyata, will start from January, and the application has currently begun. Outline of the course

Contents The contents of the course are subject to change. In a time of globalization, Thailand has enjoyed continuous economic development. Although the country has faced political difficulties, its manufacturing sector, such as the automotive industry, has significantly progressed. As the country‘s economy has developed, a new middle classes has emerged. Also, there has been a boom in the popularity of Japanese cuisine, and the number of Thai visitors to Japan has increased. On the other hand, amid the industrialization, agriculture has also steadily evolved, playing an important role as the foundation of the economy. This course considers new economic relations between Japan and Thailand by observing the Thai economy, which has seen development and faced challenges, as well as by studying it from historical perspectives.
