The Fourth SPTK Held from Oct 24th to 27th

November 26, 2014

The Fourth SPTK(Polish Studies Meeting of Three Countries – China, Korea, Japan) was held from October 24th to 27th. The SPTK is a meeting organized by three universities: Hankuk University of Foreign Studies(HUFS), Beijing Foreign Studies University(BFSU), and Tokyo University of Foreign Studies(TUFS). Experts on Polish studies from those universities took advantage of an encounter at "Polish Studies in Asia", a 2007 international conference held at HUFS, to establish the SPTK. At the 2007 conference, the researchers agreed to hold a meeting every two years among the three universities on a rotating basis. The first and forth were hosted by TUFS, the second by BFSU, and the third by HUFS.
Many students and researchers took part in the meeting: Polish-major students and professors from Japan, Korea and China, faculty members engaged in teaching Polish to international students, heads of organizations which promote the Polish language world wide, executives from government agencies, and Polish people and students currently living in Japan.
All reports were presented in Polish on various topics: Education of teaching polish language, culture, history and society, the current situation and history of Polish studies, new findings from studies and research by the attendees. All Polish ambassadors currently residing in Tokyo, Beijing, and Seoul attended the meeting, which suggested their high interest in the SPTK.
