A Joint Colloquium Held at the Tamanagayama Information & Education Center

November 17, 2014

On Saturday, November 1st and Sunday, November 2nd, a Joint Colloquium was held at the Tamanagayama Information & Education Center. Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, and The University of Electro-Communications organized the event.
This colloquium, whose theme is “Cross-field exchange” is organized and arranged by students. The event is dedicated to providing students with the opportunity to interact with researchers from different fields. Through intellectual exchanges beyond disciplines, the colloquium helps students to find ways to explain their studies in a comprehensible manner, and make the most of those opportunities for their future studies and research. TUFS newly joined the Colloquium as part of a project to develop “conflict resilience”. The project began this year.
On the first day of the colloquium, a poster session “Kenkyushitu Yataimura” was held. Students demonstrated studies and research currently conducted at their institutions.
On the second day, a discussion event, “World Café” took place. The students were divided in to small groups and talked about 2 topics : Advantages of cross-field exchange and Their future plans. More than 120 students and faculty members from the three universities attended the event, which was a great interaction between the sciences and the fumanitites.
