TUFS Exchange Students Participate in Fuchu City 'Cool Eco Get-Together'

published August 24, 2017

On Saturday 29th July, TUFS exchange students Guljakhon Nazarova (from Uzbekistan), Eliane Tacaqui Vieira (from Brazil), and Namie Erazo Arai (from Mexico) participated in the 'Cool Eco Get-Together' held by the Fuchu City Environmental Conservation Activities Center.
Nazarova registered as a model for Kugura Japanese Culture Research Society's Yukata Fashion Show. The Uchimizu (the sprinkling of water on pavement to remove dust and keep the area cool) scheduled for the evening was cancelled due to rain, but the participating exchange students met with the mayor of Fuchu City, Norio Takano, and discussed topics such as control over the 'urban heat island phenomenon,' and energy conservation education.
