[Outline]
This lecture examines sources of conflict in the political, social, economic, and cultural realm. It further focuses on direct violence, such as war, and also structural and cultural violence. The focus then shifts to goals and objectives of the various participants (stakeholders) in conflict as well as the prospects for limiting or eliminating conflict, either temporarily or permanently.
