PhD Program Fees and Admissions

Fees

Entrance Fee: 282,000 Japanese Yen  (paid at the entrance only)

Tuition: 535,800 Japanese Yen per year

(The above information is the data as of July 2011.  In case the entrance fee and tuition shall be amended at the time of entrance and during enrollment, the new entrance fee and tuition shall be applied.)

Students who are in need to financial assistance may apply for entrance fee exemption and tuition fee exemption.  The judgment (either full exemption, half-exemption or no exemption) will be made on the student’s financial status and academic performance.

Admission Process

According to the Japanese academic year, PCS accepts students once a year in April.

Submission of MA Thesis: those who did not submit during the application period

22 January, 2012:

Interview: In-person Interview will be held for all applicants here at TUFS Campus.

Entrance to Graduate School of Global Studies at TUFS

concentrating on Peace and Conflict Studies.

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for graduate study at TUFS:

Doctoral Degree Programs
▸ Completed 18 years of schooling
▸ Received a Bachelor’s and Master's Degree from an accredited college or university
▸ Otherwise recognized by TUFS to be academically eligible to apply

Students wishing to enter the PhD program (Humanities) with a concentration in Peace and Conflict Studies are expected to have a good MA degree in Peace and Conflict Studies or a closely related field, and to have completed substantial research and an MA thesis (or similar length and quality academic work).
