PhD Degree Progam Details
Introduction of the program
PhD program in the field of Peace and Conflict Studies is not an independent program.
It is situated under the International Society Studies of TUFS Doctoral program.
As it is not a curriculum-based program, students shall pursue their research under close supervision of his/her supervisor.

The research supervision will be held with his/her main supervisor and two sub-supervisors. The students are required to take up to 12 credits during the years of enrollment, acquire research guidance according to the stages of research, attend and present at academic conferences to culminate with a doctoral dissertation.
Due to the independency of the program, PhD students shall have a firm background on the topic he/she is researching on. Keeping close contact with the supervisors is another important factor in succeeding in our PhD program.
Profiles of our Current Students
As of May 2010, there are 11 students studying under the field of PCS at TUFS doctoral program. Their nationalities are: Argentina, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Japan, Tunisia, Thailand, Norway, Sudan, Ireland, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Colombia and Guatemala. Among the 12 students, 8 students are those who are continuing from our MA program.
